Digital Media Associate

Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a dynamic Digital Media Associate to join our Marketing team. The Digital Media Associate has the opportunity to be a major part in developing Signature’s brand identity and voice through digital channels, and will play an important role in how that voice develops in the future.

The Digital Media Associate reports directly to the Content Manager and works closely with the marketing team as well as other departments to create and develop Signature’s institutional and production specific media content.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop dynamic and creative digital media for Signature productions while maintaining consistent brand identity and visual style.
  • Capture and edit both promotional and engagement videos, including behind-the-scenes content and production B-roll.
  • Create short documentary content promoting productions and the institution.
  • Help coordinate interviews with artists through the Artistic Department.
  • Document supplemental and social events within the Center.
  • Work closely with Digital Content Associate on optimizing media content for online distribution.
  • Actively research new digital media trends and generate new content ideas.
  • Help maintain, alongside members of the Marketing Department, the social media accounts for Signature Theatre.
  • Help to create fundraising, rental and institutional video content.
  • Help to maintain the video archive.
 

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree or above, and experience working in a creative environment. Candidates should be highly organized and able to work on multiple tight deadlines. Knowledge of New York theatre is strongly desired. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Vimeo and YouTube is required. Shooting experience required on a Canon C100 (or equivalent camera systems) as well as shooting photographic stills on a DSLR. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, good interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability work independently and meet deadlines.

Patron Program Manager

Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking an experienced, creative, and entrepreneurial Patron Program Manager to support Signature’s annual individual fundraising efforts.

Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving & Special Events, this position is responsible for the daily operation and strategic growth of the Patron Program.

Responsibilities include:
  • Engage in prospect identification as well as the cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of Patrons ($500-$5,000).
  • Oversee renewals, gift processing, and acknowledgments, and the timely delivery of membership materials.
  • Prepare and manage Patron communications, including but not limited to annual appeals, acquisition mailings, and newsletters.
  • Maintain personal portfolio of approximately 200 donors.
  • Participate in weekly departmental portfolio review.
  • Work closely with Major Gifts Officer to move donors through the prospect pipeline and drive upgrades.
  • Provide support for department reporting and analytics.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager, Individual Giving & Special Events to design and implement Patron cultivation opportunities.
  • Help create and manage a new Young Patrons program.
  • Attend Development related events, including receptions, opening nights, cultivation dinners, and annual gala.
  • Supervise Patron Program Assistant and Patron Hotline.
 

Signature Theatre is an energetic, fast-paced, and creative environment. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three to five years development experience required, preferably with a background in the performing arts. Successful event planning and execution experience is desirable. Working knowledge of Tessitura is a plus. Must possess a strong work ethic, have confidence, take initiative and be a self-motivated, enthusiastic team player. The ideal candidate can prioritize multiple simultaneous projects successfully, and can work effectively with trustees, donors, prospects, volunteers, and staff. Evening and weekend hours for performances, opening nights, and Patron events are required.

Associate Facilities Manager

Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a Associate Facilities Manager. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Associate Facilities Manager assists with all aspects of operating and maintaining the center. The Associate Facilities Manager supports the facilities, production, and rental departments with day-to-day operations and special projects, working to ensure facilities functions are coordinated effectively into the performance and events schedule.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with strategic planning to ensure that the operations and maintenance of the building are efficient and in compliance with safety standards and codes.
  • Addressing onsite technical issues for MEP: daily trouble response, problem solving, investigation and diagnosis, and corrections of system problems.
  • Coordinating external vendor contracts and maintenance procedures for building services, including HVAC, BMS, electrical systems, plumbing, security, elevators, waste, cleaning, and fire safety systems.
  • Assisting with the management of security team, maintenance personnel, and several on-site contractors.
  • Coordinating with Production, General management and Rental departments to plan resources and address challenges pertaining to theater productions and operations.
  • Coordinating facilities operations during events.
  • Managing invoicing system, including tracking, scanning, filing and organizing documents.
  • Responding to off-hours emergencies, reporting to the site when required.
  • Assisting in management of construction and other projects as they arise.
  • Oversight of supply ordering.
  • Assisting with compliance steps for TCO and Public Assembly permits.
  • Serving as point of contact with neighboring tenants and landlord.

Desired skills and qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in premises/facilities operations management.
  • Experience managing staff and suppliers.
  • Customer-service experience.
  • Ability to align, motivate and lead a team, including creating accountability.
  • Knowledge of automated BMS, CCTV (CMMS) trouble ticket systems.
  • Solid knowledge of building/mechanical, electrical systems (MEP).
  • Knowledge of construction/MEP drawings.
  • Formal training in HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of building codes and laws.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort with MS Excel, Word and Office.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
  • Ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Theater experience preferred.
  • Associates Degree or greater preferred.

This is a full-time position. Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, plus FSA and 401(k).
