Signature Theatre at the newly opened Frank Gehry-designed Pershing Square Signature Center seeks a highly skilled and seasoned development professional to lead its growing fundraising program as Director of Development. Individual will drive a strategic program to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward capital and annual donors to expand support for the theatre. Focus will be on major gifts, annual giving, institutional giving and events.
Ideal candidate will have experience working with people on all levels of an arts organization including board members, staff and artists. Director will manage a team of six and report to the Executive Director. Superior writing and communication skills are required along with a minimum of 3 years of proven fund raising experience and management of a development team; and a Bachelor’s degree. Proficiency in Tessitura (or comparable fundraising software); and knowledge of/passion for theater is preferable.

Signature Theatre is seeking to fill the position of Database Administrator to manage and support the use and analysis of patron and ticketing data contained in the Tessitura database as well as the support and analysis of facilities management data in the Artifax Event database. This will support the organization’s expanded programming and operations at The Pershing Square Signature Center. Designed by Frank Gehry Architects, the Center has three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a cafĂ©, book store, offices, and an expansive complement of back and front-of house services.
Responsibilities include:
•Provide day to day support, troubleshooting, and technical support for Databases, Stored Procedures, and Triggers in SQL 2008
•Automate daily tasks to reduce time & increase accuracy of common tasks
• Back up and Restore databases
• Create custom reports and maintain reports and dashboards
•Facilitate generation of lists and ad hoc queries
• Develop and document processes and procedures to educate staff and inform IT support
•Provide in-house training to Tessitura users
•Provide decision support for management, assist in formulating campaigns, and oversee database infrastructure to meet business needs
•Provide leadership and coordination in expansion of Tessitura utilization
Experience at any level, either support or end-user, with Tessitura preferred. Payroll Administration
• Process and submit weekly payroll to external payroll preparation company
• Data entry of weekly payroll into general ledger (QuickBooks)
• Monthly payroll bank reconciliationsp>
• File Unemployment and Workers’ Comp insurance claims
• Prepare for and coordinate annual Workers’ Comp insurance audit

This is an ideal position for someone looking to begin a career in development and arts administration.
Reporting to the Development Team Managers and supporting the entire Development Department, this position’s responsibilities include
- Utilize Tessitura to enter, acknowledge, and reconcile all donations to Signature
- Process house seat ticket orders and exchanges for Patrons, Foundation and Government representatives, and Corporate Sponsors
- Update donor pages and development content for Playbill, Signature website, and other publications
- Assist in preparations for Board meetings and cultivation and special events
- Coordinate the hiring of interns for the Development Department
- Provide department-wide administrative support
Qualified candidates must be highly-motivated and organized and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. S/he must also be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities and projects at once, be detail-oriented and work well under deadline, and be friendly, personable, and outgoing. Strong computer skills required, specifically in Excel and Word. Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years of fundraising or customer service experience is required. Proficiency in Tessitura and knowledge of/passion for theater is preferred. Signature Theatre Company, one of New York's leading Off-Broadway theatres, seeks Greeters for Signature Center, the company’s new, permanent home to open on West 42nd Street in early 2012. Greeters will report to the House Manager. This part time position will be an integral part of introducing the culture of Signature Center to the Theatre’s subscribers, general audiences and interested visitors. The Greeter will be primarily responsible for engaging guests as they arrive at the New Center and orienting our audiences with the new space. Greeters will watch over the safety of the public and assist House Managers in creating a comfortable environment for the public to enjoy Signature Center, its programming and amenities. He or she will work closely with the public, volunteer ushers, and box office personnel to ensure that guests at the center are aware when houses are open and the public who arrives in time for their programs are comfortably seated in the appropriate space at curtain.
This position requires a flexible schedule and includes nights, Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday matinees weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Directing and monitoring lobby traffic
• Delivering instructions and information to the public in a clear and friendly way
• Communicating pre-performance informational messages for ticket holders
• Validating tickets and responsible for access control at one of three assigned seating venues
• Assisting in the maintenance of attendance records, verifying nightly ticket stub count
• Responsible for the set-up, storage and care of front of house equipment
• Working closely with House Manager to troubleshoot all ticket problems and ticket buyer complaints
• Assisting with special projects as needed
Candidates should have experience with or enthusiasm for dealing with the public and must possess exemplary customer service and communication skills. Experience with a performance venue or restaurant hosting a plus. Positive and energetic attitude required.
