A celebration of Signature playwright Horton Foote, on the eve of his 90th birthday.
Signature Theatre Company held its Annual Spring Gala on Monday, March 13, 2006 at The Ritz-Carlton Battery Park, in honor of Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award-winning playwright Horton Foote.
Special guests included Signature playwrights Edward Albee, Lee Blessing, John Guare and Romulus Linney along with past Foote collaborators Matthew Broderick, James Earl Jones, Estelle Parsons, Lois Smith, Peter Sarsgaard and Harris Yulin.
The highlight of the evening featured a surprise performance by Dame Edna Everage. Signature also presented its inaugural Playwrights' Award to The Shubert Foundation. The event included a silent auction, with exclusive entertainment packages, autographed memorabilia and rare works by Signature playwrights, resort stays and getaways, and premium sports and theatre tickets. Horton@90 was one of the most successful Annual Galas in Signature Theatre history.
The Co-Chairs for the evening were President William Jefferson Clinton & Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
