About TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD:
Based on the classic American novel by Harper Lee, To Kill A Mockingbird (1962) tells the unforgettable story of childhood in a small Southern town and the crisis of conscience that rocked it. Set in sleepy Maycomb, Alabama during the Depression, To Kill a Mockingbird follows the life of 8-year-old Scout Finch as her father, Atticus Finch, defends a young black man in court against the charge of raping a white woman. The result is a tough and tender story of race, class, justice, and the pain of growing up. Screenplay written by Signature’s 1994-95 Playwright-in-Residence Horton Foote.
