Content Coordinator

Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a Content Coordinator to join our Marketing team.

The Content Coordinator is a full-time, benefits eligible position within the Marketing Department and reports directly to the Marketing Manager. The position facilitates the production of all creative content produced by the department, and works closely with other departments to coordinate institutional and production-specific content development.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop dynamic and creative content marketing campaigns for Signature productions while maintaining consistent brand identity in both written voice and visual style.
  • Manage production deadlines for all printed materials, including Signature’s artistic publications, Playbills, lobby displays, ads, brochures, postcards, signage, institutional content, and other collateral.
  • Work closely with graphic designer in developing a high volume of designed materials, including original ‘show art’ for each Signature production, bringing an individual identity to each show while maintaining the Signature brand.
  • Assist in the building of internal and paid e-blasts.
  • Work with Digital Media Associate to provide feedback and production support for show-specific and institutional video content.
  • Manage production deadlines for Signature Café + Bar and Bookstore collateral.
  • Help maintain, alongside members of the Marketing Department, the social media accounts for Signature Theatre.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors, printers and photographers.
  • Edit documents for clarity, style, and grammar.

Candidates should consider themselves to be:

  • Skilled at multi-tasking
  • Detailed and able to work with multiple, extremely tight deadlines.

We prefer candidates who possess:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Graphic design experience or exposure
  • A demonstrable high-degree of copyediting ability
  • Experience with Creative Suite, or similar software
  • A knowledge of, or a passion for, New York theater.

Primary criteria to be considered for an interview are:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in creative environment
  • A college degree.

Production Manager - Temporary

Signature Theatre, one of New York's leading Off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a Production Manager to help us on a project basis during our upcoming season which begins in late September 2018. The Production Manager will be assigned a specific production in our upcoming season.

Reporting to the Director of Production, the Production Manager oversees all production aspects for a show from design through its execution and subsequent run.  The Production Manager plays an integral part in the design and execution of all production elements working closely with a diverse artistic Team which includes the Design Team, the Director and the Playwright. Working together with Signature Theatre’s Artistic Line Producer the two work to ensure a cost effective and timely delivery of all production elements. The Production Manager will also ensure a proper maintenance schedule is created and maintained for all production elements during the run of each production.

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Artistic Line Producer maintain open communications between Designers, Director and Department Supervisors throughout the design and bid process
  • Work collaboratively with Artistic Line Producer, Designer and Department Supervisors to achieve the highest possible artistic standards within the available budget
  • Work with Department Supervisors on the logistics of planning, organization and scheduling for load in, tech, run and load out of each production
  • Work with Design Team and Artistic Line Producer to determine run crew needs and works with Department Supervisors to hire all run crew
  • Create the schedules for load in, work calls during technical and preview rehearsals, and load out for each production
  • Oversee the load in and load out of each production and make sure deadlines and schedules are met
  • Keep in touch with the Production Stage Manager during rehearsals and run to ensure all needs are met within the available budget
  • Actively communicate with all Signature Theatre departments as necessary about developments in the process that may affect them
  • Coordinate production elements for all ancillary events such as Page to Stage, Talk Backs, and other supplementary programs for each production
 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of Production Management or equivalent experience in the managing of production elements from concept to execution. The ideal candidate would also have strong communication, organization, time management and collaborative skills.

This is a temporary position, paid a weekly salary. The position would not be benefits eligible. Preference is given to candidates who have demonstrable experience advocating for equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Security Officer

Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking an experienced, organized, detailed Security Officer for our Frank Gehry-designed, 75,000 square foot center comprising three theaters, two rehearsal studios, a public lobby with a café and bookstore, and administrative offices.

Reporting to the Security Supervisor and to Facilities Management, the Security Officer assists in overseeing all aspects of the Center’s safety and security needs, ensuring the building runs efficiently and in compliance with policies, procedures and codes. The Security Officer will assist with on-boarding, supervising and training security vendor officers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Open the Center at beginning of building operations
  • Secure building at the end of operations
  • Carry out security bag check
  • Tour mechanical rooms and all doors, inspecting equipment, and access points
  • Reporting all security and safety concerns to Security Supervisor /Facilities Management
  • Responding immediately to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and guests, while also communicating with Security Supervisor /Facilities Management
  • Patrolling public premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
  • Directing and escorting deliveries, vendors and guests around the Center
  • Managing keycard, security CCTV, security tracking systems
  • Assisting with supervising outside venders Officers
  • Assisting with enforcing security policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with the coordination between Security Vendor Officer and Signature Theatre
  • Attending monthly security meetings
  • Building relationships with the neighborhood NYPD and FDNY sectors
 

Required Certifications:

  • Valid New York State Department of State Security Guard License

Desired Certifications:

  • CPR, AED, and First-Aid
  • Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel (FDNY F-03)
  • Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems and Other Related Systems (FDNY S-95)
  • Active shooter training

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum four years’ experience in a security supervisor role
  • Customer-service experience
  • Knowledge of CCTV systems
  • Knowledge of NY fire safety codes and laws
  • Knowledge of Building Fire suppression systems
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with MS Excel, Word and Office
  • Theater venue experience preferred

Tessitura and Database Manager

Signature Theatre, one of New York's leading Off-Broadway theatres, seeks a full-time Tessitura and Database Manager.

The Tessitura and Database Manager will provide leadership for the organization in their use of the Tessitura CRM software. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Audience Services, and will be a vital member of the team in ensuring proper utilization and growth of data-driven initiatives. The Tessitura and Database Manager will interact closely with all departments, including Marketing, Development and Finance, in establishing best-practices for effective uses of Tessitura.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead all Tessitura efforts throughout the organization
  • Interpret analytics and providing data-driven business solutions
  • Provide decision support for management on marketing and development strategies, through automating daily tasks and creating custom reports
  • Oversee database infrastructure as well as providing technical support and administration
  • Maintain and monitor style guides and standardization for data entry
  • Facilitate generation of lists, advanced data extractions, custom reports and ad hoc queries
  • Verify the accuracy of system data and monitoring resolution of data faults and errors
  • Support third party applications that interface with Tessitura including Web API, Artifax Event, T-stats, Word Fly, and N-Scan
  • Develop and document processes and procedures to educate and train staff and inform IT support
 

Candidates should possess a college degree with a focus in IT or comparable professional experience. Minimum 2 years experience with progressive responsibilities as an advanced Tessitura user, working directly with end users, is required. Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services, writing SQL queries and stored procedures is strongly preferred.
