Production Manager

Signature Theatre, one of New York's leading Off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a Production Manager to help us on a project basis beginning immediately. The Production Manager will be assigned a specific production in our season and report to our Director of Production.

In this temporary role, the Production Manager oversees all production aspects for a show from design through its execution and subsequent run.  The Production Manager plays an integral part in the design and execution of all production elements working closely with a diverse artistic Team which includes the Design Team, the Director and the Playwright. Working together with Signature Theatre’s Artistic Line Producer the two work to ensure a cost effective and timely delivery of all production elements. The Production Manager will also ensure a proper maintenance schedule is created and maintained for all production elements during the run of each production.

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Artistic Line Producer maintain open communications between Designers, Director and Department Supervisors throughout the design and bid process
  • Work collaboratively with Artistic Line Producer, Designer and Department Supervisors to achieve the highest possible artistic standards within the available budget.
  • Work with Department Supervisors on the logistics of planning, organization and scheduling for load in, tech, run and load out of each production
  • Work with Design Team and Artistic Line Producer to determine run crew needs and works with Department Supervisors to hire all run crew
  • Create the schedules for load in, work calls during technical and preview rehearsals, and load out for each production
  • Oversee the load in and load out of each production and make sure deadlines and schedules are met
  • Keep in touch with the Production Stage Manager during rehearsals and run to ensure all needs are met within the available budget.
  • Actively communicate with all Signature Theatre departments as necessary about developments in the process that may affect them.
  • Coordinate production elements for all ancillary events such as Page to Stage, Talk Backs, and other supplementary programs for each production

 
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of Production Management or equivalent experience in the managing of production elements from concept to execution. The ideal candidate would also have strong communication, organization, time management and collaborative skills.
 
This is a temporary position, paid a weekly salary. The position would not be benefits eligible. Preference is given to candidates who have demonstrable experience advocating for equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Security Officer

Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a Security Officer to join the Facilities Department. Applicants from populations underrepresented in the theatre field are strongly encouraged to apply.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Security Officer assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees and patrons visiting the Pershing Square Signature Center (Center) by conducting bag checks as well as patrolling and monitoring the premises.

Responsibilities include:

  • Secure premises and personnel, including employees and patrons by patrolling center; monitor surveillance equipment; inspect building and access points; permit entry
  • Direct and escort deliveries, vendors and guests throughout the Center
  • Maintain log in sheet for all incoming and outgoing packages
  • Support center operations by calling vendors including but not limited to elevator maintenance
  • Enforce Signature Theatre’s policy and procedures throughout the Centers public spaces
  • Assist with outsourced security officers by familiarizing them with Signature Theatre’s policy and procedures through the Centers public spaces
  • Conduct bag check
  • Open and close Center as required
 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Valid New York State Department of State Security Guard License
  • Customer-service experience
  • Knowledge of CCTV systems
  • Knowledge of NY fire safety codes and laws
  • Knowledge of Building Fire suppression systems
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with MS Excel, Word and Office
  • Theater venue experience preferred
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends
 

Desired Certifications:

  • Active shooter training
  • FLSD/EAP Director
  • CPR, AED, and First-Aid
  • Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel (FDNY F-03)
  • Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems and Other Related Systems (FDNY S-95)

Assistant Security Supervisor

Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking an Assistant Security Supervisor to join the Facilities Department. Applicants from populations underrepresented in the theatre field are strongly encouraged to apply.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Assistant Security Supervisor assists in all aspects of the Center’s safety and security needs, to ensure the security department runs efficiently and in compliance with policies, procedures and codes. The Assistant Security Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the floor and addressing any performance or event-based needs directed to both in-house and outsourced security staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Open and close Center as required
  • Patrol public premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
  • Maintain log in sheet for all incoming and outgoing packages
  • Conduct security bag check
  • Support center operations and vendor relations including but not limited to elevator maintenance
  • Inspect mechanical rooms and doors, equipment, and access points
  • Monitor security CCTV system at Security Kiosk
  • Report all security and safety concerns to Facilities Management, including incidents
  • Respond to emergencies, to provide necessary assistance to employees and guests, and immediate communication with Facilities Management
  • Direct and escort deliveries, vendors and guests around the Center
  • Coordinate facilities day-to-day security operations and update security documents
  • Assist Security Supervisor and Facilities Manager with monthly security meetings
  • Assist with outsourced security officers by familiarizing them with Signature Theatre’s policy and procedures through the Centers public spaces
  • Project management skills; develop systems to organize and keep track of information such as facilities and Security Officers credentials
  • Enforce Signature Theatre’s policy and procedures throughout the Centers public spaces Other duties as assigned
 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Valid New York State Department of State Security Guard License
  • Minimum two years’ experience in an assistant security supervisor role
  • Customer-service experience
  • Knowledge of C-Cure 9000, Genetec Security and Guard-Teck Force, preferred
  • Ability to align, motivate and lead a team, including creating accountability
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly in a positive and productive manner and maintain effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of CCTV systems
