Greeters

Signature Theatre, one of New York's leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking Greeters.

Position Summary:

Greeters are responsible for creating a welcoming environment for the public. Reporting the House Manager, Greeters are an integral part of introducing the culture of The Pershing Square Signature Center to the company’s subscribers, the general audiences and interested visitors. Greeters are primarily responsible for engaging guests as they arrive at the Center and orienting our audiences to the Center.

This part time, seasonal position requires a flexible schedule which generally includes evening shifts Tuesday – Sunday; and matinee shifts on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. Applicants must have specific availability for the 2018 holiday season.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Directing and monitoring lobby traffic
  • Delivering instructions and information to the public in a clear and friendly way
  • Communicating pre-performance informational messages to ticket holders
  • Validating tickets at one of three assigned seating venues
  • Assisting in maintaining attendance records, verifying nightly ticket stub count
  • Responsible for the set-up, storage and care of front of house equipment
  • Working with the House Manager to troubleshoot all ticket and/or patron issues
  • Assisting with special projects as needed
 

Candidates should be:

  • Experience with a performance venue or restaurant hosting
  • A positive and energetic outlook
  • A passion for theatre


Primary criteria to be considered for an interview are:

  • Experienced with, or enthusiastic for, a public-facing role
  • Possessing exemplary customer service and communication skills

Front of House Manager

Signature Theatre, one of New York's leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a Front of House Manager.

Position Summary:

The House Manager supports the audience experience and is an integral part of introducing and maintaining the culture of the Center for the Theatre’s subscribers, and general audience patrons and visitors. The House Manager is responsible for the safety of the public, ensuring a comfortable environment for audiences to enjoy the Center and its programming. Collaborating with ticket services, volunteers, and other front of house personnel, the House Manager will ensure productions run efficiently.

This part time, seasonal position requires a flexible schedule which generally includes evening shifts Tuesday – Sunday; and matinee shifts on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. Applicants must have specific availability for the 2018 holiday season.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicating, scheduling and training volunteer ushers and coordinating program distribution and inserts
  • Preparing and communicating pre-performance informational messages for ticket holders
  • Maintaining applicable attendance records, verifying nightly ticket stub count, and preparing nightly performance reports of event specifics
  • Working closely with ticket services to troubleshoot ticketing issues and patron complaints
  • Supporting and communicating with front of house staff to provide engaging customer service
  • Communicating with Stage Managers and other production staff to facilitate performance schedules and troubleshoot various issues
  • Assisting with special projects as needed
 

Candidates should be:

  • Experienced with, or enthusiastic for, a public-facing role
  • Possessing exemplary customer service and communication skills

Primary criteria to be considered for an interview are:

  • Experienced in audience services in a theatre or performance venue
  • Demonstrable ability to be a team leader
  • Possessing or obtaining a FDNY F-03 Certificate of Fitness
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of Tessitura

Ticket Services Representative

Signature Theatre, one of New York's leading off-Broadway theatres, seeks a Ticket Services Representative for the Pershing Square Signature Center on West 42nd Street.

Ticket Services Representative is a part-time position reporting to the Ticket Services Manager and to the Assistant Ticket Services Manager. The position is part of a team that represents the call center, the concierge desk, and the street-level point-of-sale box office in our multi-venue facility.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering inbound busy phone queue to sell tickets and subscriptions
  • Being the first line response for customer services inquiries
  • Assisting in concierge desk will call pick-up before shows, for both Signature and rental productions
  • Selling tickets and answering questions at the street-level box office
  • Maintaining relationships with our loyal base of subscribers
  • Responding daily to Ticket Services email inquiries
 

Candidates must have experience with ticketing systems in a professional capacity. Tessitura experience preferred. This is a part-time hourly position without benefits, working weekdays weekends and holidays.

Signature Theatre is seeking to fill the following over-hire production positions at the The Pershing Square Signature Center:

These are on-going, hourly wage positions. Candidates should have a well-rounded production background, in addition to the necessary skills and experience in the fields of which they are applying.
